Flea Bites can be dangerous

Flea bites on human beings can be dangerous and painful as well. Therefore, if your pet is infested with fleas it is not only the pet that will get bitten but the fleas can start biting the humans in the house as well. You can make out a flea bite from the small hard and red raised area that is formed at the point where it bit you. Also, you will have a burning and itching sensation at that spot. The bitten region will have a puncture on the spot the flea actually bit you.

The usual spots for you to look out for flea bites are ankles and legs. T hat is the height at which fleas can get you. These bites are not only extremely unattractive to look at but also dangerous. The presence of fleas on your skin will start being like a parasite and suck up your blood. Fleas can also be harbingers of several other dangerous ailments.

If you are bitten by fleas then the first thing to do is to wash the region with cold water and clean it thoroughly. Apply an antiseptic cream on the spot. There are herbal ointments for flea bites that work really well. You can apply an icepack to this region that will bring down the swelling of the spot. Also, do not be tempted to scratch the region however much you want to as it will aggravate the situation and spread the infection.
